the documentary is informative, it traces the root of islam and its philosophy – basically that Muhammad designed Islam first and foremost to be a political system. although it does not refer to the sources (in the video), I do agree with the content (even when it is speculative) from what I have seen Islam has done to India over its history.
With Pakistani nukes operational and Iran on the verge of acquiring them (if the Pakistanis haven’t sold them already) and China and N Korea happily assisting them, it appears we are close to an unthinkable world war 3. More on how China’s narrow view of the world is ebbing the world closer to WW3 later..
islamofascism
the problem is PAKISTAN
I put that as a comment on a blog but after i wrote this, i thought it was worth publishing:

Joe Klein does not know the first thing about Kashmir or the history of the Indian subcontinent and the same goes for candidate Obama in 2008. I hope over the last year President Obama has been briefed by ‘experts’ on the region and learnt more of the following:
the last time US mediated publicly between India and Pakistan was in 1971 when Nixon in all his cold war wisdom parked USS Enterprise in the Bay of Bengal to threaten India because India mediated in Bangladesh to stop the worst genocide since Holocaust by Pakistani army in Bangladesh (which was then East Pakistan). The US went against popular world opinion even in Western Europe to side with Pakistan despite its obvious brutality and slaughter motivated by economic exploitation and racial bias against the “short dark skinned” Bangladeshis. The West Pakistanis (what is left of Pakistan today) considered themselves “tall fair skinned Pathans of the glorious aryan race and descendants of the Turks who ruled India for 800 years” (which by the way they still do).
Besides the cold war expediency in backing Pakistan, the US foreign policy still allows Pakistan to arm itself to the teeth to maintain a phony parity with India. This is the single biggest reason that there is instability in South Asia.
To put that in perspective – it is like the USSR arming Cuba with nuclear missiles so Cuba could defend itself against a possible US invasion and therefore lead to “stability” in North America. We all know how much the US loved to have a neighbor like that. But that’s the game that US foreign policy has been playing in south asia since forever – supplying a morally corrupt, aggressive, Islamic country that failed democracy 101 more than you can count since 1947, with WMDs, looking the other way when they acquired nukes and all this at the expense of India, the shining beacon of democracy and stability in the third world despite its poverty and sociocultural diversity because it tilted towards Soviet socialism and technically speaking was “Non-Aligned” with either super power.
As you can imagine, because of reasons above the United States has little or no credibility in India in being a neutral conflict resolver. So that’s that. And Obama pushing will not help because what Joe Klein calls his “ultimate good strategic sense”, I call “naivete”.
here is why:
In 1947 Pakistan was created on a simple philosophy – “we muslims ruled India for 800 years until the British spoiled our party. So a democratic India with a Hindu majority is simply unlivable. So we should have Pakistan – the land of Muslims.” A British clerk then came up with a simple and arbitrary formula for carving Pakistan out of India – “Muslim majority areas will go to Pakistan”.
That line of thinking led to massive ethnic cleansing of Hindus on what was to be the Pakistani side in the border line districts of Punjab in the west and Bengal in the east. Of course the Hindu and Sikh mobs retaliated and the suffering that followed has been well documented although not known as much in the west.
Nevertheless, India at least in principal NEVER “purged” its minorities. At its lowest, weakest and poorest time in its history India was and continues to be a pluralistic democracy, at least as best as they come in a 3rd world country.
Then In 1948, the Hindu king of Muslim majority state Kashmir signed over Kashmir to India. But the flawed logic of India’s Partition (muslim majority goes to Pakistan) is why Pakistanis think they have the right to Kashmir. So Pakistani army invaded Kashmir and took over 1/2 of it before Indian army salvaged the remaining half.
India’s weak and pompous Prime Minister (Nehru) at the time foolishly went to the UN and promised a plebiscite which of course later governments never took seriously. Anyhow, Kashmiris themselves were largely happy in India until 1987 when the Indian government felt the need to brazenly mess with the local elections. That was a bad move but again not an unfixable situation.
but then the eager Pakistani intelligence (ISI) seized the moment and turned its battle hardened mujahiddeen (Islamic holy warriors) returning from their victory against the Soviets in Afghanistan towards India. That was the beginning of Pakistan’s cold war on India. The philosophy was simple – take advantage of India’s religious and cultural diversity and bleed it to death instead of launching an un-winnable all out war. The euphemism used was “moral and diplomatic” support for Kashmiri separatists and that’s what it has been for more than 20 years now.
the Kashmiri freedom movement never was as popular as Pakistanis would have you believe. Besides Pakistanis are the least interested in seeing an independent Kashmir, as they like to say themselves – the “K” in Pakistan stands for Kashmir.
So, here is where we are in India right now – we think India’s partition was a nightmare caused by Islamic fascism assisted by British who could not care less. But Pakistanis can breathe easy because that doesn’t mean we want Pakistan back after all who would want a terrorist infested population of brainwashed Islamists living next to them?!?!
But then we are not giving up any more of Kashmir than we already had to. The best compromise that India is willing to strike in the worst case is to maintain the status quo – accept the current line of control as the international border IF AND ONLY IF Pakistan stops sending jihadis across the border.
Is that too much to ask for to avoid the threat of a nuclear war??? Well as it turn out – YES. Because kashmir and the Indian bogey would then stop being an issue and the Pakistani Army and its criminal intelligence agency (ISI) would lose relevance and power in Pakistan. But thats not all. The population of Pakistan which has been been brainwashed with Islamic supremacist rhetoric for more than 60 years now in a deliberate attempt to recruit more jihadis for fighting in Afghanistan and Kashmir don’t want to stop at Kashmir. They want entire India to be ruled by Muslims just like in the good old days before the British came to India.
Long story short, if the international community thinks that Kashmir is THE problem, you are solving the wrong problem. IT IS PAKISTAN THAT IS THE PROBLEM. Pakistan is and has been the aggressor throughout its miserable history.
US double standards and cold war math are partly responsible for making Pakistan the hell hole that it is today. And after all that, US simply does not have the moral high ground to lecture India. Just like India is not Palestine or Iraq or Iran or N Korea or Serbia or Afghanistan or Somalia, we are not Pakistan or in the same ballpark. We do have our own developmental problems but we know how to solve them.
And if Pakistan is proving to be too much of a problem for you, we will be happy to solve that too
. Just don’t get in the way with your clueless and biased “mediation”.
Pakistani media sucks ass
You have got to listen to this. I will put a English transcript as well. this is a pakistani channel talking about Mumbai attacks in Nov ’08. Accorsding to these guys these attacks were launched by BJP, a right wing Indian political party working with the CIA and Mossad. This shit goes on and on, almost comic. No wonder Pakistanis hate India!!
indians needs to have guns
read through this: http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=40567
i have been in the US for the past year or so and what I have come to realize is that Americans need to have fewer guns and Indians more.
India is a weak state. A REALLY WEAK state. Indian goverment is a bunch of leeches living off of the population that has to pretty much fend for itself. the man on the street is shit scared of the police and the non-functional justice system. the only people these mtherfkers dont scare with their 303s are they ones they are supposed to – the criminals and terrorists.
doesn’t it make perfect sense then that the population should be allowed to defend itself? sure it does, but this is one of those mtherfking Indian things that should happen but nobody does em.
actually maybe the government is afraid it will lose control of the population if it were armed. thats for a few reasons: first, certain populations in India still haven’t reconciled with the fact that they are supposed to be a part of India and second, the entire government establishment drives the common man crazy, if he found a gun to vent his anger and demand accountability (or defend himself) there will be a lot of blood on the streets.
the first isn’t really a big problem because the system is so corrupt, pretty much every one who really really wants to get a gun can have an illegal one. but whos going to explain this very complicated logic to a fucking babu.
the second one meanwhile seems to be a very plausuble explanation. if i were a lousy government that bred incompetent law enforcement agencies that victimized the very people they are supposed to protect, then thats what i would do – not allow people to defend themselves.
moral of the story is: in india you are at the mercy of folks who are planning the next attack i.e. if they decide to strike in the time and place that you happen to be in, you are completely fucked…
